ban it imposed on miraa, farmers who grow the crop in the country are
pondering over their next move, knowing fully well the adverse impact
the ban will have on their livelihoods. But miraa it has emerged plays a
huge role in the lives of residents of Meru County. The miraa crop
apart from being a big source of income is also used for trade among the
locals and even used as offering in the different churches across Meru
County. Citizen TV spoke to a farmer who plucks miraa from his farm
every Sunday morning for offering, and a bishop who has built his church
from miraa offerings to understand the other side of miraa farming.
