A fourth division fixture in Romania between Chisoda and Sannicolaul Mare was momentarily suspended after riot police carried out an armed search for a player suspected of multiple crimes.
As you can see from the above footage - taken by a spectator at the game on his mobile phone - armed police stormed the pitch during the game and forcing all of the participants and substitutes onto the ground, hands on their heads.
After checking every last footballer to see if one of them was their man - Chisoda's Sorin Udrea - the police looked set to give up and continue their manhunt elsewhere.
But it was not long before Udrea's cover was blown: the wanted footballer was hiding out in the stands among fans, and once found he was arrested on multiple counts of extortion, robbery and smuggling.
