USAIN BOLT BEATEN BY JUSTIN GATLIN IN 100M.

The Jamaican wasn't too certain why he couldn't translate a good start into a good finish
Usain Bolt suffered a rare 100 metres defeat when he was beaten by drugs cheat Justin Gatlin in Rome.
The Olympic champion said he stumbled after making the ‘perfect start’ and could not catch Gatlin, who won bronze behind Bolt in the 100m in London.
It was Bolt’s first defeat in a Diamond League 100m event since he was beaten by Tyson Gay in Stockholm in 2010, but he vowed he has time to get things right before the World Championships in Moscow in August.

The Jamaican said: ‘The one-offs are never for me. It’s all about the World Championships. I’ve got two months to get it right.
‘You learn more from losing. You can’t win every race in your career, I’ve learned that.
‘For me Rio will be biggest Games of my life. That’s where I’m going to make history if possible (by becoming) the three times Olympic (100m and 200m) champion, which has never been done. I want to go out there for my legend status.
‘For me, it’s just going through the season and putting things together for the World Championships. The season is still very early. I am not surprised. I have time – I’m not worried.’

Gatlin, who has twice tested positive for drugs and served a four-year ban, won in 9.94 seconds, with Bolt a hundredth of a second behind.
The American, 31, had warned Bolt and Jamaica team-mate Yohan Blake to expect a ‘dogfight’ this season and lived up to his pre-race trash talk, while Bolt looked unusually tense after the drive phase, rocking in his lane and grimacing as he tried in vain to catch Gatlin.
Gatlin said: ‘It felt good. It’s an honour to be able to race against him and compete against him. He’s an inspiration for the sport. He’s inspired me to be a better runner and a better entertainer for the fans.
‘I just want to be able to give him some competition when he’s at top form. He’s a legend and I want to go out and just fight for the end. Much respect.’
Bolt ran only 10.09 secs in his opening race in the Cayman Islands earlier this season, but had insisted before the race that he was fully fit after recovering from a minor hamstring injury.
Afterwards, however, he admitted he ‘did not expect much from the race’ and added: 'At least I ran under 10 seconds this time. My legs did not feel the energy.
‘I guess I need to be stronger at the end of the race. I think it just needs some time to get it all back together.

It was business as usual for the Queen today as she declared the BBC's revamped state-of-the-art Broadcasting House officially open.
The Queen - without the Duke of Edinburgh, who was undergoing an exploratory operation - had earlier toured the major new extension to the broadcaster's London headquarters and even listened to a live performance by the pop group The Script.
In a short address broadcast live by the BBC and around the globe via the World Service, she referred to a previous visit to Broadcasting House with her husband shortly before her coronation 60 years ago.
She said: "I was struck then, as I am now, by the sheer pace of change which has transformed your industry over the past 60 years, years during which broadcasting has enriched our lives in so many ways."
The building cost just over a billion pounds and took a decade to complete.

Hatua ya Yanga kujitoa inazidi kuongeza idadi ya vilabu ambavyo vimesema ikiwa michuano hiyo itafanyika Darfur basi havitashiriki Kagame Cup mwaka huu, vilabu vikubwa vya Sudan AL Hila na El Merreikh, Tusker ya Kenya na Simba SC vyenyewe vilishatangaza uamuzi wa kutokwenda Darfur kwa ajili ya michuano hiyo.

Iain Douglas-Hamilton, who has been studying and protecting elephants in Africa for 47 years, states, "There's an enormous slaughter of elephants going on in Tanzania right now. Things are out of hand. There's no protection in numbers for elephants any more than there was for bison in the 19th Century when they were all wiped out in America. So people shouldn't kid themselves."
The slaughter is most critical in Tanzania,
which has perhaps a quarter of the
elephants left on the continent.
Many reports say Tanzania is losing 10,000 elephants a year, but others say that the number is higher, up to 90 a day in some areas - reportedly the highest rate in Africa!"

Michael Jackson’s Daughter Paris is Admitted After Tries to Kill Herself.

Paris Jackson, the daughter of late pop legend Michael Jackson, is in hospital after attempting to kill herself, a publicist has confirmed.
Paris, 15, is “doing good” and recovering, said Angel Howansky, her grandfather’s publicist.
Emergency officials said they responded to a reported overdose in the Calabasas area of Los Angeles where Paris lives, but did not identify the patient.
Ms Howansky, a long-time publicist for Joe Jackson – Michael Jackson’s father and the girl’s grandfather – could not confirm reports of a possible drug overdose or multiple cuts on her wrist.
But she later said that Paris was “doing good”.
Paris, Michael Jackson’s only daughter, is currently part of a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the concert promoters AEG Live, who the Jackson family says bears responsibility for her father’s death from an accidental drug overdose in June 2009.BBC

Woman Charged With Assault Of ABC6 News Crew (Video)

A Rhode Island woman has been charged with assault after she threw a rock, waved a baseball bat and urged her dogs to attack a news crew reporting on a kindergarten graduation party shooting.

WLNE-TV reports that its cameraman and reporter were trying to speak with Melissa Lawrence, the mother of a victim, Tuesday after a teenage boy turned himself in to police.

Video shows Lawrence throwing a rock at them, wielding a bat, screaming "Get away from me," and directing her two pit bulls to attack. The dogs then bite reporter Abbey Niezgoda (niz-GOH'-dah) on her forearm. WLNE says Niezgoda received a tetanus shot.

The Providence Journal reports Lawrence was released on personal recognizance Wednesday after not guilty pleas were entered on her behalf.
