David Cameron Announces 'same day' Visa Service for Indian Students and Businessmen

Visa Service
More Indian students and businessmen will be welcomed into the UK, David Cameron announced today, as he scraps limits on immigration and speeds up the visa process.
The Prime Minister made the announcement as part of a deal that means India will make it easier for British companies to do business in the sub-continent.
He made the announcement after arriving in Mumbai ahead of the largest trade mission ever to travel overseas with a prime minister.

Speaking on the first day of his second visit to India as PM, Mr Cameron announced the creation of a new 'same-day' visa service for Indian businessmen.
The speedier service in response to unhappiness with the current system which can take three days or more to process applications.

He also said there was 'no limit' to the number of Indians who would be allowed to study at UK universities and stay on in graduate-level jobs after they qualified.
Speaking to workers at the Mumbai headquarters of the Anglo-Dutch Unilever group, Mr Cameron said: 'Britain is one of the most open, easy-to-invest-in countries in the world. We are incredibly welcoming.

'I am very proud of the fact that it is an Indian company, Tata, that makes the Jaguars and Land Rovers that are taking the world by storm.
'They also roll most of our steel and own Tetley Tea - and you don't get any more British than Tetley Tea. I am very proud of that.
'Britain is an open economy and we encourage that investment.'
Mr Cameron made clear that in return, he wanted India to tear down outdated barriers to investment to help UK-based companies in areas like insurance and banking to establish a foothold in the fast-growing economy.
'I think, in return, we should be having a conversation about opening up the Indian economy, making it easier to do business here, allowing insurance and banking companies to do more foreign direct investment into the Indian economy.
'There are still many rules and regulations in the Indian economy associated with how you did things in the past which, if you change them, will make your economy grow and deliver more jobs, more wealth, more prosperity across your country.

William Zelothe Stephen the First Tanzanian Maasai to be certified to fly an Airbus A319

Airbus A319 William Zelothe Stephen is the first Tanzanian Maasai to be certified to fly an Airbus A319, following his training to become a pilot for fastjet. He recently undertook his two-month training in the UK, sponsored by fastjet, returning this week to Tanzania. William is originally from Olosipe, near Arusha.
William likens his experience of flying the Airbus A319 to being in a “state-of-the-art house”, and describes the plane as a very stable aircraft with multiple protection systems. ‘’The Airbus aircraft really looks after you, if you know the ins and outs of it,’’ he said.
William has a background in wildlife management, and first trained as a pilot at Florida Aviation Academy in the USA back in 2006, where he obtained his Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Despite his young age, he has already clocked up 3,053 flying hours.
Hiring this 28-year old Tanzanian pilot is part of fastjet’s efforts to ensure the airline hires the best, locally trained staff. Their recruitment strategy is also part of their wider social responsibility plans to invest in Tanzania. Each pilot training cost approximately 49,546,400 TZS which is equivalent to $ 31,027.
Fastjet is a new low-cost African airline that recently acquired Fly540 and launched the continent’s first true budget carrier.
The airline which, is backed by Lonrho and easyGroup founder Sir Stelios Haji Ioannou, has introduced competitive fares of as low as Tsh 32,000 before taxes in order to enable millions of people who have previously been locked out of air travel to fly for the first time and to fly more often.Since the airline’s launch in November 2012, the low cost airline has flown over 70,000 people with 99.7% of flights on time.

Pope Delivers One of His Final Messages to Huge Crowd

Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope Benedict XVI led tens of thousands in a prayer for strength Sunday and thanked followers for their support during his second-to-last Angelus prayer as pontiff.
"Today we contemplate Christ in the desert, fasting, praying, and being tempted," the pope said to an unusually large crowd at St. Peter's Square in Vatican City.
"As we begin our Lenten journey, we join him and we ask him to give us strength to fight our weaknesses. Let me also thank you for the prayers and support you have shown me in these days. May God bless all of you!"

Benedict, 85, shocked millions across the world last week when he announced his intention to stand down at the end of the month, citing the frailty of old age.
The decision makes him the first pope to step down in nearly 600 years.
Referring Sunday to a Bible passage, the pope said, "During the decisive moments of our lives, and in fact at every moment, we are in front of a crossroads: Do we want to follow the I or God? The individual interest or the true good, that which really is the good?"
The crowd appeared to have about 100,000 people
He also tweeted a message to followers worldwide, calling on them to "rediscover faith" as a foundation.
Cardinals may meet before March 15 to choose the next pope if they are all in Rome, a Vatican spokesman said Saturday. The conclave will bring together the 117 cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church.
