Serikali ya Kongo na Waasi wa M23 Warejea Katika Mazungumzo Mjini Kampala

Serikali ya Kongo na waasi wa kundi la M23 wameendelea tena na mazungumzo ya kutaka kutatua mgogoro unaendelea Mashariki mwa Kongo.
Mazungumzo hayo yanayoendeshwa na waziri wa Ulinzi wa Uganda Dkt. Crispus Kiyonga yameanza hapo jana mjini Kampala nchini Uganda.
Nia kuu ya mazungumzo hayo ni kutafuta suluhisho kwa njia ya amani la mgogoro unaofukuta katika majimbo ya Kivu Kaskazini na Kusini.
Awamu ya kwanza ya mazungumzo baina ya serikali ya Kongo na waasi wa M23 ilianza Disemba 7 2012 lakini yakasitishwa mnamo Disemba 18 kwa ajili ya sikukuu ya Christimas.

Team Leader to Lead the Implementation of an Upcoming Education Quality Improvement Programme in Tanzania

The British Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead the implementation of an upcoming Education Quality Improvement Programme in Tanzania.

EQUIP-T has an overall budget of around £50m - at least £30m will be delivered through this contract to the Government of Tanzania to improve the quality of education in primary schools and to increase the number of children, particularly girls, able to transfer to secondary education. The expected outcome of this programme is better quality education, especially for girls, and an approach ready for national scale up by the Tanzanian government.

Indicative minimum results include:
• Improved teaching of early-grade reading and numeracy in 2000 schools, resulting in an additional 230,000 eight and nine year old children able to read with comprehension.
• More time on task for 1 million primary school children, resulting in an extra 55,000 children passing their end of primary school examinations.
• 27,500 more girls able to make the transition to secondary schools.
The programme will take place over four years. The team leader will be expected to work closely with the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional and Local Government (PMO-RALG) who have responsibility for implementing primary and secondary education and who are based in Dodoma.
