Brilliant.org List 10 of The World’s Smartest Kids.

How amazing would it have been if social media was as prevalent when an young Albert Einstein was developing his great theories and exploring new ideas. How inspiring would that have been for other great thinkers to share thoughts within seconds and followers to witness greatness in the making?

While we can’t turn back the hands of time we can appreciate and follow the emerging great young minds that are considered to be the smartest kids in the world. The new social media platform Brilliant.org find “underserved” geniuses around the world, and help provide them with an education by introducing to top educators and educational institutions. In collaboration with Business Insider, Brilliant.org has identified what they consider to be the ten smartest kids in the world. The ten names were selected from 70,000 young people from 155 countries who participated in olympiad-style weekly challenges answering more difficult math and science questions.
Take the young kid in the picture above who’s name is Dylan Toh, bored with his school mathematics curriculum, Dylan scoured his local libraries for more challenging material.

The Singaporean Ministry of Education later approved him for acceleration in mathematics, matching him with a secondary school teacher to study material several grade levels above that of a typical 12-year old.

Son of Former Pakistan PM Kidnapped

The son of former Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has reportedly been kidnapped during a campaign rally in his hometown of Multan, sources have told Al Jazeera. Ali Haider Gilani was taken during a gunfire at the rally, which apparently killed his personal secretary and injured others. "People came on a motorbike. They also had a car with them and they opened fire and abducted Yousuf Raza Gilani's son Ali Haider in a black Honda," police officer Khurram Shakur said. He is running from two constituencies - NA-151 and NA-152 - as an independent candidate, but is a member of the Pakistan People's Party which completed its five years in government.

Ariel Castro Appears in Court Where He Pleads Not Guilty Despite ‘Confessing’ to Abductions and Rape

The man accused of imprisoning three women for about a decade in the US city of Cleveland has made his first court appearance.

Wearing a navy blue prison jumpsuit and with his head bowed throughout, Castro was arraigned on four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape this morning. He pleaded not guilty

Ariel Castro, 52, is charged with kidnap and rape. He did not enter a plea.

Bail was set at $8m (£5.1m), meaning in effect that he will remain in custody.

The women were abducted at different times and held in Mr Castro’s house. One of those held, Amanda Berry, 27, escaped on Monday and raised the alarm.

The other women freed soon afterwards were Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michelle Knight, 32.

Mr Castro, handcuffed and dressed in blue overalls, remained silent and looked down while lawyers spoke to the judge.

The police detained two of Mr Castro’s brothers, Pedro and Onil, but later said they appeared to have no involvement in the crime.

They instead face misdemeanour charges of drinking in public. Onil Castro also faces an additional drug abuse charge.

Ariel Castro has put on suicide watch and will be kept in isolation, his court-appointed lawyer Kathleen DeMetz told reporters.

Police said the women could only remember being outside twice during their time in captivity, and were then only allowed into the garage.

Three Emiratis Are Not Linked to Tanzania Church Bombing

Abu Dhabi: A top government official says three Emiratis have been wrongly linked to a deadly bombing of a church in Tanzania contrary to newswire reports out of the African country.
A government source told Gulf News, “Authorities in the UAE have received confirmations through official channels that the investigations undertaken by security in Tanzania showed no connection between the three Emiratis in question and the bombing, which took place at a church in Arusha city during a mass service.”

The source said that “the UAE is following up with the three Emiratis through diplomatic channels ever since they were taken in for investigations at a police station close to the bombing site. The UAE embassy is awaiting their arrival as soon as the case is closed and they are released”.
According to media reports, the three unidentified Emiratis were taken into custody following Sunday’s bombing when they tried to cross the border.

Five Tanzanian nationals were also arrested for the attack which killed three people and injured as many as 60.

Alisema siku ya tukio baada ya bomu hilo kulipuliwa kanisani hapo, yeye alimwona mlipuaji huyo hivyo akaungana na watu wengine kumkimbiza.“Mtuhumiwa alikuwa akikimbia ujue, sisi tulimkimbiza bila kuogopa kama ana mabomu mengine kwenye mfuko. Alipoona hatukati tamaa, alifika kwenye shamba la miwa akajilaza, lakini mbwa waliokuwa na sisi walitusaidia sana,” alisema shujaa huyo.

Aliendelea kusema kuwa walipomdaka mtuhumiwa huyo walimkuta na mfuko wa rambo, walipochungulia ndani yake walishtuka, kumbe alikuwa na mabomu yaliyosalia!
Hata hivyo, alisema yeye na mabomu yake hawakumwachia na dakika chache wananchi wenye hasira kali walifika eneo hilo wakiwa na silaha za jadi wakitaka kumuua ndipo polisi walipofika eneo hilo na kumchukua mtuhumiwa huyo kwenda naye kituoni.

Baadhi ya wananchi waliozungumza na gazeti hili walisema kijana huyo amekuwa staa ghafla, hivyo wakaitaka serikali kumfikiria kwani ameonesha kitendo cha kishujaa.
