The 44-year-old ex-husband of late singing legend Whitney Houston was led away in handcuffs after appearing in court earlier today.
A judge had previously ordered the R&B star to begin his sentence by 20th March, and the star left it until the very last day of the deadline to hand himself in.

He had been given the punishment last month having pleaded no contest to the charges following his arrest in October.
The singer will be placed on probation for four years after completing his spell behind bars.
New Edition star Bobby was also ordered to install a breathalyser on his car to prevent him from starting the engine if he goes over the legal limit.

Rapper Too Short has just been arrested for DUI ... after allegedly attempting to run from police, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Short -- real name Todd Anthony Shaw -- was pulled over in L.A. a couple hours ago for some traffic violation ... and when cops approached the vehicle, he appeared under the influence.
Now here's where it gets weird -- when police attempted to administer a breathalyzer test, law enforcement sources tell us Too Short took off ... and tripped as he ran down the street.

Police got their man and placed him under arrest ... then tossed him into a police cruiser.

On the way back to the station, things got even crazier -- we're told Too Short tried to dump narcotics in the back of the cruiser.
Our sources say Too Short blew a .09 ... just over the .08 legal limit.
According to law enforcement sources, Too Short is currently being booked for DUI and felony narcotics possession.

Troublesome '96 - 2pac Alitukana kwa Kiswahili?

Verse II
Gutter ways, my mentality is ghetto
A guerilla in this criminal war, we all rebels
Death before dishonor bet I bomb on 'em first
Niggaz knew we came for murder, pullin' up in a hearse
Westside was the war cry bustin' off freely
Screamin, "F*#k - ALL Y'ALL NIGGAZ" in Swahili
Pistol packin fresh out of jail, I ain't goin' back
Release me to the care, of my heartless strap
Say my name three times like Candyman
Bet I roll on yo' ass like an avalanche
A sole survivor, learned to get high and pull drivebys
Murder my foes, can't control my nine
Hearing thoughts of my enemies pleadin' please
Busta-ass motherfuckers tried to flee
Picture me lettin' this chump survive
Ran up on his ass, when I dumped he died;
Cause I'm Troublesome

Diana’s Dresses Sell For £800k.
The dress in which Princess Diana danced with John Travolta at a White House state dinner has sold at auction for £240,000.

The Victor Edelstein, off-the-shoulder design, in midnight blue velvet was successfully snared by an anonymous bidder who said he wanted to surprise his wife.
The Princess of Wales wowed both the British and US public when she was pictured being twirled around the dance floor by the Hollywood star during the 1985 US visit.
Auctioneer Kerry Taylor said: “It was bought by a British gentleman who said he wanted to buy it as a surprise to cheer up his wife. I hope that the sale has really made someone’s day.”

The dress was one of 10 of Diana’s dresses on sale as part of the Fit For A Princess collection at the vintage fashion auctioneers Kerry Taylor Auctions in London. The garments were originally sold, along with a number of others, by Diana herself following her divorce from the Prince of Wales to raise money for charity at the suggestion of Prince William.
American Maureen Rorech Dunkel initially bought the dresses as a long-term investment, but after Diana’s death in 1997 she decided to exhibit them to raise money for good causes.
The collection, described as “a little history of Diana’s life through her clothes”, reached a total of £862,800.

UN SG STATEMENT TO MARK INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

UNITED NATIONS
UNITED NATIONS INFORMATION CENTRE – DAR ES SALAAM

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination this year focuses on using the power of sport to end the blight of racism. It is an opportunity to highlight the sharp contrast between the positive values of sports and the despicable incidents of racism that scar even some professional competitions.
Sport is a universal activity that can reaffirm our fundamental human rights. Combating racism lies at the heart of the United Nations Charter. The international community has an obligation to work for equality and non-discrimination, and we can advance progress by promoting these values through sports.

Each year we mark this Day on the anniversary of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre. We can never forget the 69 unarmed and peaceful demonstrators who were killed by South African police as they protested the country’s unjust apartheid laws.
Apartheid has long since been dismantled and there have been other important advances in the struggle against racism. These include treaties and declarations, the development of an international framework to combat racism, and national protection systems by numerous States.

Despite much progress, racism remains a pervasive menace to individuals and ethnic and religious groups worldwide. It is a threat to stability and a grave violation of human rights.
We must join forces to end racism, and sport can help reach this goal. On this International Day, let us recommit to ending racial discrimination and realizing our vision of justice, equality and freedom from fear for all.
