DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, West African singer and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo recently visited Tanzania to highlight issues related to girls’ education, particularly early pregnancies, which have forced many girls to drop out of school.
“I feel very sad when I see these young girls, because being a mother at that age isn’t easy – even at 30 it’s not easy,” Ms. Kidjo said as she sat in front of a group of child mothers at the Temeke Vocational Centre in Dar es Salaam.
