Morbid Gallery Reveals How Victorians Took Photos of Their DEAD Relatives Posing on Couches, Beds and Even in Coffins

Dressed in his Sunday best, a Victorian gentleman with a faraway look in his eyes sits in a chair while his photograph is taken.
The Victorians experimented with different types of photography – and even took snaps of dead relatives
But if his posture seems rather unnatural, it is for good reason. He is dead.
These remarkable pictures show the morbid way that the deceased were remembered in the late 19th century.

The invention of the daguerreotype – the earliest photographic process – in 1839 brought portraiture to the masses.
It was far cheaper and quicker than commissioning a painted portrait and it enabled the middle classes to have an affordable, cherished keepsake of their dead family members.
Known as post-mortem photography, some of the dearly departed were photographed in their coffin.

President Obama Joins Immigration Reform Push

US President Barack Obama will try to build support later for an immigration overhaul, a day after a bipartisan group of senators said the time was right for reform. Mr Obama will present his plan at a high school in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It is expected to mirror the senators’ framework, though possibly with a faster path to citizenship for many of the 11 million undocumented immigrants. The move reflects the growing influence of Hispanic voters.
Speaking at 11:15 local time (19:15 GMT) on Tuesday, Mr Obama will make his case for an immigration revamp, which is expected to largely reflect a blueprint he rolled out in 2011.
Mr Obama is not expected to unveil legislation, but to rally support for the proposals promoted on Monday by a group of four Democratic and four Republican senators.

Spika wa Bunge bi Anne Makinda amesema Bunge limeunda Kamati Maalumu kwenda mkoani Mtwara kutafuta suluhu kuhusu suala la nishati ya gesi, iliyopatikana mkoani humo. Spika Makinda ameyasema hayo wakati akiahirisha kikao cha Bunge kilichoanza leo Mkoani Dodoma.
Spika amesema matokeo ya Kamati hiyo Maalumu yatawasilishwa kujadiliwa Bungeni. Iddi Maalim wa TBC anaripoti katika taarifa iliyosomwa saa saba mchana ifuatavyo:

Hili alikuwa analizungumza baada ya kusema kuwa amepokea vikaratasi na maombi mengi kwamba Bunge lijadili suala la Mtwara, gesi kama suala ambalo ni la dharura.
Lakini akasema kwamba, ile hoja si ya dharura na akaeleza pia ukweli kwamba Wabunge ambao wanasema lijadiliwe kama suala la dharura wengi wao hawalifahamu kwa undani, kwa hiyo badala ya kujadili jambo ambalo hawalifahamu kwa undani, ni afadhali ataunda kamati ambayo itakwenda Mtwara ikirudi itakuja na majibu, na mapendekezo ya Wananchi na ndipo Bunge litajadili ndani ya Mkutano huu wa kumi.
