Exclusive: The Mechanics of Malaysia's Missing Flight..!

One of the most baffling aspects facing searchers for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane is how such a modern jet-liner could vanish with no indication of technical problems.The last voice communication with the pilot of flight MH-370 was a routine call to hand the plane over to Vietnamese traffic control.But Onboard transponders also track the plane's position as well as its mechanical performance. The Malaysian Airlines Triple 7 has Rolls Royce engines that send data and monitor engine performance.The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources, claimed the engines on Flight MH-370 kept sending out data for four hours after its last known position.If true, the plane could have covered another 4,000 kilometres and gone as far as China, India or even Australia.Al Jazeera's Simon McGregor-Wood looks into the plane's state-of-the-art communications systems.
